It works to protect and preserve threatened fundamental American rights and liberties, to increase equal access and participation in our government, to restore trust in government and to encourage active involvement in community and government.

Purpose/Goals: The Partnership is a community-based non-profit organization involving industry, conservation groups, natural resource agencies, and residents cooperating to promote ecosystem health and diversity. The Partnership supports management of all land in the watershed to sustain natural resources and to contribute to economic and community well-being. The Watershed Council is a subcommittee of the Partnership; it implements a program that includes stream habitat and water quality monitoring, planning, education, and community outreach. It works with landowners, agencies, volunteers, and interest groups to promote stewardship practices to maintain a healthy watershed.

Purpose/Goals: The principal goals of the AVBA are to provide an opportunity for local business owners to meet and establish supportive and cooperative relationships and to facilitate inter-business referrals. Also promotes the Applegate Valley as a tourist destination and supports the “Shop Local” concept. Business meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. Potluck networking meetings held quarterly (January, April, June, and October) on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. Folks who live in the Applegate Valley and own or plan to open a business of any size in the valley or in town are encouraged to attend.

Purpose/Goals: “Town Hall” meeting for the Jackson County part of the Applegate Valley. Also serves as a Citizens Advisory Group (CAG) for land use planning for the Applegate-Ruch area. Everyone who lives in, owns property in, or has a business in Jackson Applegate is welcome to attend. There are no dues; however, contributions are welcome. The Community Forum meets on the 3rd Thursday evening of the month, alternating between Ruch and Applegate. Meeting minutes and news are posted on the web.

Purpose/Goals: Offered by the Siskiyou Sustainable Cooperative. Creates a community between local farmers and consumers who invest in “shares” of the upcoming harvest. Share sizes, options, and costs vary.

Purpose/Goals: Local food bank provides an emergency box of food for people in need. The Pantry is located at Ruch School.
Purpose/Goals: There are beef, goat, rabbit, swine, home economics, arts, and more 4-H groups in the Applegate. Please call the Jackson County Extension Service to learn more about 4-H and the local club leaders.

Purpose/Goals: The goal of The Friends of the Fire Department is to support Fire District #9 employees and volunteers. The Friends coordinate several events each year in appreciation of the fire fighters and their hard work. The group’s annual yard sale in September helps to raise funds for these activities, as well as for much needed equipment and supplies. In the event of a lengthy fire fighting operation, the Friends prepare and deliver food, drinks and other necessities to the fire fighters. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7 pm at Fire District #9 Headquarters at 1095 Upper Applegate Road. Volunteers are always needed!!
